Apache Moon - Second Volume in the Modern Mythological Fantasy Series "Out of the Mist"
Following an incredible transformation in "Ancient Memory", the first book in the "Out of the Mist" series, Chance Black must find and rescue Onawah Vaishali, another of the Ancients, an immortal race of beings who used to be worshipped as Gods.
Chance is aided by Aine McCarthy, a sorceress who used to protect Chance's Ancient sister, Creirwy. They are accompanied by Koi, a clever and mysterious modern Apache warrior. Together, they must solve the mystery in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona.
Meanwhile, the surviving priestesses of Creirwy find themselves running from the Ancients with whom they used to be allied. They must find out what happened to their missing Goddess or fall.
Ancient Memory - Volume 1 in "Out of the Mist" series.
Alan Templeton, sergeant of detectives in the small city of Salt Lake, has a mess on his hands. He and his team are investigating two series of murders that he is convinced are somehow linked. They are very unusual, however. In some of the killings--ritualistic sacrifices--there is no evidence left behind by the murderers, while on the others there is an orgy of evidence that makes no sense. He has to solve them quickly, before more people fall victim to the grisly crimes. Chance Black, a man who is finding it hard to cope with life due to his hideous appearance, is suddenly saddled with Felice, a young woman who is convinced that she is in danger from the cult-like following she had been involved in. Creirwy Edwards, the strikingly beautiful leader of the cult Felice has fled, is convinced that she is a Goddess from ancient times. Worse yet, she is also convinced that Chance is her long lost brother, Morfran.
